Information about the PostalUnlock Unlock By Post Service.
More Information About Our 'Unlock By Post' Service
-
The customer has a mobile phone that will not operate with a sim card from the network they wish to use. This indicates the mobile phone is 'network restricted' and must be 'unlocked' before a sim card from a competing network will operate in the mobile phone.
-
The customer visits the PostalUnlock website and selects the make (BlackBerry, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung or Sony Ericsson) of their mobile phone on the homepage.
-
The customer is then requested to select the appropriate mobile phone model from a list. The exact mobile phone model can usually be located on a label under the battery of the mobile phone.
-
The customer is then requested to complete an 'Unlocking Request Form' (Name, Address, Telephone, Email etc.). Our 'Unlocking Request Form' is located on a secure server, therefore you can be sure the information you submit is transmitted safely and securely.
-
The customer is now requested to submit the appropriate payment for unlocking securely through the 'PayPal' service. The customer can make a payment through PayPal using most credit/debit cards or with their PayPal account if they have one.
-
Once payment has been completed, the customer is returned to an order confirmation page on the PostalUnlock website. This page provides instructions for sending the mobile phone to PostalUnlock for unlocking.
-
The customer sends their mobile phone to PostalUnlock by 'Royal Mail Special Delivery' and we receive the mobile phone at our unlocking centre the following working day.
-
The customers mobile phone is unlocked and returned to the customer by 'Royal Mail Special Delivery' on the day of receipt (you should allow up to 5 working days for newer Nokia models).
-
The customer receives their unlocked mobile phone the following working day and can now use a sim card from a competing network.
